Sleep is good.

Boomer has been doing great sleeping through the night since his amputation (he even sleeps on his left side).  However, being the humanizing, worrisome mom I am, my sleep has been lacking.  Robert has been sleeping with Boomer and I have been sleeping on the couch (2 sets of ears are better than 1).  Sleep for me has been scarce but last night I finally did it!  I slept more last night than I have all week. 

I am beginning to think the human factor makes it tough on us new tripawd moms.  Guess I should take lessons from Boomer and just roll with what comes our way.

  1. your tripawd boy has so much to teach you!!!! open up your mind and heart, you will be an excellent student. so glad boomer is doing well, and you guys are getting some rest. we are major supporters of the ‘medicinal nap’ as a healing tool.

  2. Doesn’t that first night of sleep feel great?!?
    What a relief. You’ll start to feel like you have the energy to have fun, relaxed time with Boomer. You’re doing great! It’s interesting to see people going through the exact process a few days behind us. I posted a ‘why am I a basket case’ the other day, which mostly had to do with lack of sleep. Keep healing!

    I’m glad your path results were good. I just want you to know I”m still holding down the fort out here, you rest up and let your humans rest too! You will feel much better in a week, I promise!

  4. Yesh! Follow Boomer’s lead. And as Dr Waldman recommends, if you want life to be normal again you must act as though life is normal. Have you always slept on the floor with him? 😉
